PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission having a hydraulic pressing device capable of restraining deformation of a disk accompanied by pressing force imparted from a power roller. SOLUTION: In this toroidal continuously variable transmission, a hydraulic compartment (hydraulic chamber) formed between a first piston 340 and an input side disk 2 is partitioned into an inner chamber 380 positioned on a radial inner side of the input side disk 2 and an outer chamber 370 positioned on the radial outer side coaxially with the inner chamber 380 by an axial extended part of the first piston 340. An annular second piston 250 is liquid-tightly arranged in the outer chamber 370 in such a manner of freely movable (slidable) in the axial direction, and an annular third piston 252 is liquid-tightly arranged in the inner chamber 380 in such a manner of freely movable (slidable) in the axial direction.
