PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bit holder device constituted by mounting a sleeve on a bit body, wherein forming the sleeve and mounting it on the bit body are achieved easily and at low cost. SOLUTION: This bit holder device is furnished with: the rod type bit body 5 on a head end in the longitudinal direction of which a knife edge 4 free to be engaged with a machine screw 3 is provided and having a peripheral groove 11 on the middle side in the longitudinal direction; and the sleeve 6 formed cylindrically to be externally fitted on the bit body 5, projected in the diametrically inner direction on an inner peripheral surface and provided with an engaging projection 13 to be engaged with the peripheral groove 11. The engaging projection 13 is formed so that the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve 6 is bulged toward the diametrically inside by compressing the sleeve 6 in the longitudinal direction after the sleeve 6 is externally fitted on the bit body 5.
