PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working method and a working device of power saving and low noise in working a cylindrical workpiece to be subjected to various kinds of working such as drilling work, cutting work, surface pushing work, and embossing finish. SOLUTION: A workpiece supporting base is provided on one (fixed) working fixture, the other (movable) working fixture is provided confronting the one working fixture, the drilling work, etc. are carried out to the workpiece through advancing and retreating of the other working fixture, the workpiece and the work supporting base are moved in the retreating direction in working (advancing), facilitation and cushioning-moderation of working is performed, the other working fixture retreats in finishing working and is separated from the one working fixture, and first working is finished.
