PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method which is intended to separate and remove a heavy metal and a volatile organic compound becoming a contamination source in contaminated soil from the soil at the site generating the contaminated soil and requires little cost for industry in executing to clean the contaminated soil. SOLUTION: When the moisture content in the contaminated soil or the contaminant contained in the liquid form is recovered from the soil, it can be continuously removed in the static state that motive power and mechanical facility are not required other than installation of hygroscopic sheet. Specifically, in the treatment method for the contaminated soil, in the area of liquid-containing contaminated soil, the hygroscopic sheet is made present so as to contact the contaminated soil, at least one end of the hygroscopic sheet is made present in an atmosphere, and the contaminated liquid content containing the contaminant in the contaminated soil is moved to the hygroscopic sheet.
