METHOD FOR GROUND TESTING OF AEROSPACE ENGINEERING OBJECTS EXPOSED TO ICING AND A DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

The invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the aircraft industry for ground testing of aerospace engineering objects exposed to icing under natural operating conditions. The inventive method consists in simulating operating conditions by winding a test object with an organised and uniform water-air flow which is formed by an air flow and a system of spraying nozzles mounted at a wind tunnel output. The uniform state of the air flow is maintained by ejecting air which is supplied to the wind tunnel through a pipeline system, sucks out the boundary layer of the air flow and removes it to the atmosphere, by heating the nozzles with hot air and by turbulising the air flow with the aid of swirl generators arranged at the wind tunnel output. The state of the water-air flow is monitored with the aid of icing sensors which are movable in relation to each other between the wind tunnel and the test object along the flow. Said invention makes it possible to reduce the time of testing and to increase the accuracy of test results.
