<p>The invention relates to a device for conveying flat items, in which the flat items (E) are moved in series while being separated into pairs (P) by a pitch that is normally constant, comprising a synchronisation system (9) for compensating a certain variation of said pitch. The system includes: means (8, 11) for categorising the items based on certain physical characteristics of the items; means (7,8,12) for detecting a certain variation of the pitch for a current item and for storing in a memory said pitch variation according to the category of the current item; and means (8, 12) for controlling the synchronisation system based on said pitch variations stored in the memory according to said item categories.</p> |
