An apparatus and a method for synchronization of a radio frequency identification reader are provided to adjust the number of readers arranged in a cluster according to the number of grouped frequency channels, thereby minimizing radio interference and collision between readers. An RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) reader synchronizer(100) comprises a control server(110) and a cluster. The control server extracts at least one frequency channel respectively having a predetermined spaced distance among frequency channels based on each divided bandwidth after dividing the frequency bandwidth into at least one bandwidth having a predetermined size per a channel. And the control server groups the extracted frequency channels. The cluster includes at least one reader which recognizes a tag attached to an article by using the searched frequency channel.
