An image pickup apparatus is provided to convert an incident light into an electric signal at a photoelectric converter to accumulate an electric signal, thereby preventing image quality from being lowered due to miniaturization of a CMOS sensor. A 2 x 2 share pixel is comprised by 4 pixels. A pixel is a pixel of an odd column of the N row. A pixel is a pixel of an even column of the N row. A pixel(61c) is a pixel of an odd column of the N+1 row. A pixel(61d) is a pixel of an even column of the N+1 row. The pixel (61a) comprises a photo diode(71a) and a transmission transistor(72a).
