METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SHARING SECRET INFORMATION BETWEEN DEVICES IN HOME NETWORK

A method and an apparatus for sharing secret information between devices in home network are provided to reduce the traffic of the home network for the certificate exchange by sharing the sensitive information between home network devices. The predetermined seed information is transmitted to the second device from the first device(401). The first device receives the message ciphering the sensitive information to the predetermined public key from the second device(406). A user produces the secret key corresponded to the public key according to the predetermined IBE(Identity-Based Encryption) scheme by using the personal information which user inputs to the seed information and the first device(408). The sensitive information is decoded to the first device from the message by making the use of the secret key(409).
