<p>A device and a method for collecting and redistributing liquid flows flowing down from the inside of exchange columns are provided to allow a liquid collector to be easily integrated with supporting gratings or other members in a state that additional column height and related costs are relatively hardly necessary. A device(10) for collecting and redistributing a flow of liquid flowing down from the inside of an exchange column(14) having a longitudinal axial line and a cross-sectional area comprises longitudinal members, one or more plates(16), and one or more gas risers(20). The exchange column includes packing layers(12) having an upper end and a bottom positioned oppositely to the upper end. The bottom of the packing layer extends across at least a portion of the cross-sectional area of the exchange column. The longitudinal members are at least one pair of longitudinal members including a first longitudinal member and a second longitudinal member. The longitudinal members each extends across at least a portion of the cross-sectional area of the exchange column. The longitudinal members each has one or more inner sides, a top part, and a bottom part. The plates are vertically spaced from the bottom of the packing layers at predetermined intervals. The plates extend across at least a portion of the cross-sectional area of the exchange column. The plates include a first end and a second end. The gas risers are fluid communicated with the plates. The gas risers receive at least a portion of a gas stream ascending within the exchange column to move the received gas stream from a first point under the plates to a second point above the plates. The gas risers each includes a cap(24), one or more vertical walls(30), and one or more openings.</p> |
