A passenger guide system control device and a method thereof are provided to determine whether reproduction of a video file is stopped or not, generate a system reset signal if so, and reset a passenger guide system according to the generated system reset signal. In a database, a video file is pre-stored. A video reproduction controller controls reproduction of the video files stored in the database. A video play part reproduces the video files according to control of the video reproduction controller. A playing time interpreter(315) determines the max waiting time through a playing time of the video file which the video reproduction controller provides. It is determined whether the determined max waiting time has passed or not. If max waiting time for playing time performed by the video play part is not inputted until the max waiting time passes, a system reset signal is generated. An error process part(317) resets a passenger guide system.
