PRE-STRESSING APPARATUS USING A SPLIT THREADED FASTENER

A pre-stressing device using a split threaded fastener is provided to simplify assembling thereof on a large-scaled threaded column or rod for carrying out the tensioning thereof easily. A circular ring(30) is divided by half along a surface crossing a central longitudinal axis(34) between facing end walls(40,42), wherein one of the end walls provides a truncated conical load bearing surface limited by a protruded point(44). A bolt clamps the divisions of the circular ring while contacting the axis. A hollow cylinder(50) has a wall surface including a truncated conical thrust surface for providing a pair of common truncated conical surfaces including the truncated conical load bearing surface.
