IGNITION DEVICE OF 8-STROKE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

An ignition device of an 8-stroke internal combustion engine is provided to change the ignition cycle properly by operating the ignition plug every four or eight strokes depending on the temperature in the cylinder block. An ignition device of an 8-stroke internal combustion engine comprises a first cam shaft(30) in which an intake cam(31) driving an intake valve(21) is integrally formed, a second cam shaft(40) in which an exhaust cam(41) driving an exhaust valve(22) is integrally formed, a third cam shaft(50) capable of rotating along with the rotation of the first cam shaft, a first distributor(60) which supplies high pressure to the ignition plug once per four strokes by combustion of fuel, a second distributor(70) supplying high pressure to the ignition plug once per the whole eight strokes consisting of four cycles by combustion of fuel and four strokes by expansion of water, and a synchromesh apparatus which selectively operates one of the first distributor and the second distributor.
