A rack or shelf for an oven with at least two parts or sections 12, 13 joined by a spacer 14 which fits into pockets in the racks and links them so that all the parts lie in a common plane, the width of the shelf being adjustable by changing the orientation of the spacer or inserting a different sized spacer. The rack and spacer may be made of wire and the parts may be rectangular. Alternatively, the spacer may be hexagonal. The pocket may be defined by pairs of steel wires extending across the frame (5, fig 1) and may be limited by further wires 15, 16, 17, 18, some of which form projections of different lengths 17, 18, for engagement with notches, indentations or recesses in the spacer 19, the notches on each side of the spacer being of differing depths so that the orientation of the spacer will determine the width of the rack. The rack may include a second spacer member (64, fig 20) and third rack section (61, fig 20). There may be similar spacers at the back of the rack (76 fig 21) to adjust the depth of the rack. |
