A method for estimating the mass of the myocardium of the left ventricle in the patients with the arterial hypertension as a function of the systolic arterial pressure and the end-diastolic size of the left ventricle comprises the measurement of the systolic arterial pressure, the end-diastolic size of the left ventricle, and the mass of the myocardium of the left ventricle. Upon the correlation and regression analysis according to Spirman, the estimated mass of the myocardium of the left ventricle is assessed as follows:MMLV (estimated) = EDS (mm) x SAP (mm Hg)100 x 2 + 50(g) whereinMMLV – the mass of the myocardium of the left ventricleEDS – the end-diastolic size, mmSAP – systolic arterial pressure, mm HgWhen the real value of the mass of the myocardium of the left ventricle is below the estimated value, the hypertrophy of the left ventricle is compensatory, when the mass of the myocardium of the left ventricle is above the estimated value, the hypertrophy of the left ventricle is pathological. |
