A LOCATION TRACKING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREWS AND PASSENGERS IN SHIP

A location tracking system for crews and passengers in a ship and a method thereof are provided to build a ship easily by using a power line modem easily installed in a small and low power active tag, a router easily installed in a wall, and a power line installed in the ship. A wireless zigbee communication network(110) comprises a plurality of nodes in an area where wireless communication is possible in a ship. A power line communication network(120) is a wire communication network arranged in an area where wireless communication is impossible. The power line communication network is connected to the zigbee communication network by a zigbee-power line communication interface module(150). Crews or passengers in a ship have active tags(130). A plurality of routers(140) exists in a node of the zigbee communication network. The routers read a signal of the active tag.
