A spinning position for spinning yard from a fiber structure including a fiber guidance element is disclosed. The fiber guidance element includes a fiber guiding surface having a deflection point located in the interior of the fiber guidance element. The input direction of a fiber structure into the fiber guidance element forms an angle of inclination alpha with the fiber guiding surface at the deflection point. The splaying of the outer fibers of the fiber structure is increased and the quality of the yarn is thereby increased. The jamming of the fiber elements lying parallel to the direction of introduction may also be avoided.
