A card-receiving connector includes a legacy connector part and an additiona l connector part that facilitates plugging in cards having improved functionality while also allowing legacy cards to be plugged in. In one embodiment, the additional connector part is a third row post that provides for additional supply and return without increasing the lateral size over th e legacy connector assembly.
