The present invention relates to a process for preparing N-(1-alkenyl)carboxamides of the formula I, wherein a carboxamide of the formula II is reacted with an alkyne of the formula III in the presence of a catalyst which is selected from carbonyl complexes, the halides or oxides of rhenium, of manganese, of tungsten, of molybdenum, of chromium and of iron.
