Disclosed is a sense oligonucleotide for controlling the expression of iNOS (inducible nitric oxide synthase), which has a sequence complementary to single-stranded RNA (an antisense transcript) having a nucleotide sequence complementary to mRNA of iNOS gene. The sense oligonucleotide can be used for controlling the expression of iNOS, and is useful for biological defense or the treatment or prevention of a disease associated with the excess production of NO, such as cancer, an inflammatory disease and endotoxin shock induced by bacterial infection.
