A triangular foresail of a yacht is made with one set of cloths S, T having their weft or warp at right angles to the luff D1 and another set of cloths U, V having their weft or warp at right angles to the leach F1. The joint line between the two cloths runs in a straight line, or a smooth curve or series of curves from the head A1 to the point L on the foot, between a quarter and a half of the distance from the tack B1 to the clew C1. Points on the joint line lie between a quarter and a half of the distance from the luff to the leach, measured parallel to the foot.
