892,358. Vehicle window operating mechanisms. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. July 27, 1960 [Aug. 12, 1959], No. 26107/60. Class 20(3) In a pivoted vehicle window operated by a handle, opening by forcing the window is prevented. The window shaft 18 is rotated by a bell crank 32 which is provided with a knob 36 moving in a slot 38, and through links 42, 44, 45, 50 operates a gear sector 56, a gear 60 and a brake release cam 66. The cam forces brake shoes 26, 28 out of engagement with the casing 20 to grip and rotate a drive member 22 on the shaft 18. A force applied to the shaft 18 through the window 16 causes the drive member 22 to drive the brake shoes into engagement with the casing 20. |
