A method for preparing a health food by using nelumbinis semen, and the health food prepared by the method are provided to remove the offensive taste and the offensive odor of nelumbinis semen. A method for preparing a health food by using nelumbinis semen comprises the steps of adding 20-200 % of elvan pieces based on the weight of nelumbinis semen to a container and heating it at 100-120 deg.C; adding 5-50 % of bamboo salt based on the weight of nelumbinis semen to the container and parching it at 90-100 deg.C; and lowering the temperature to 80-90 deg.C, adding nelumbinis semen and parching it for 10-30 min.
