The post has a metallic plate cut from a strip of a steel sheet and provided with a base and a post head, and a polygonal shaft and an obturator made of same material. The obturator is formed by folded edges (6, 8) of a tooth that is arranged in the post head of the plate. The post head of the plate is cut by a thermal device such as plasma or laser, for forming the tooth, where the thermal device is controlled by a digital control. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a metallic telephone post.
