An image reading apparatus correcting the error of a scanned document and an image correcting method using the same are provided to correct an error generated by the shape of a bound document according to the selection of a user, thereby satisfying various desires of the user. A control unit(130) corrects an error generated due to the shape of a bound document in the image of a scanned bound document. A display unit displays the image of the corrected document. The control unit includes an image reading apparatus(100) correcting the error in a correction mode inputted from a user.
