Described is an electronic device and process for the reception, counting and transmission of votes in electoral processes. The inventive device consists in a template similar to an electoral ballot, which enables a vote to be easily emitted upon changing the cross out of ballots by a keystroke, including light indicators for said purpose so as to indicate the type of election for which the elector is voting; a liquid crystal display for indicating the elector the step to be performed, also containing a keyboard, a low power consumption central circuit allowing the device to work with power supplied from the normal network and batteries, a memory for storing votes, an inner thermal printer for printing acts as well as vote receipts; the invention further includes an activation module for allowing the elector to access the system, being previously identified by the president of the polling booth, a communication port for transmitting the final results to a computer connected to the ele ctoral institute network, a modem for quickly transmitting the final results to the district headquarters; besides the aforementioned elements the invention has auxiliary support for blind people.
