The method involves arranging two inflatable plugs (11, 12) on a pipe (1) on both sides at a location of a lacking section, and approaching a replacing section (4) from the lacking section. The plugs are connected with exterior of the pipe by a connecting cordon (15) passing through the section and by a tapping (5). The section is hooked to the pipe, and the plugs are inflated from exterior of the pipe. Inert gas is diffused in a space delimited by the plugs, and the replacing section is molded on the pipe. The plugs are deflated and removed from the pipe by the cordon through the tapping. An independent claim is a pipe section internal confinement device for implementing a method for replacing a pipe section of a hydraulic circuit of a nuclear power plant.
