METHOD OF FORMING A PATTERN ON OPTICAL FIBER TEXTILES

A method for forming a pattern on optical fiber textiles is provided to arrange optical fiber easily and to form a desired pattern through the optical fiber simply. A pattern on optical fiber textiles is manufactured by dissolving a cladding layer of optical fiber by using an etchant. The etchant is one of acetone, ethylacetate or tetrahydrofuran. A method for melting the cladding layer of the optical fiber by using the etchant comprises the followings. On the surface of the optical fiber fabric, a part excepting a pattern part is passed through a resist printing process. The optical fiber fabric having the resist printing process is sunk in the etchant. The fabric is dried naturally by the etchant. And the fabric is dried again at a high temperature.
