An apparatus and a method are provided to improve current consumption generated by a plurality of simultaneously executed applications in a portable terminal. A method for improving current consumption includes a processing step of transmitting a periodic signal to a server(205). It inspects whether it is a predetermined signaling synchronization time or not. When it is the signaling synchronization time, a signaling is transmitted to the server and then a signaling synchronization of all applications is realized(209).
