METHOD FOR MARKER-FREE MOTION CAPTURE

A method for marker-free motion capture is provided to detect a hand, a face, an arm of an actor/actress without an additional sensor and to capture the motion of the actor/actress promptly in real time. The distance from a stereo camera to an image pixel photographed by the stereo camera is calculated(S100). An edge image from which an edge existing in a photographed image is extracted is created based on the shading or color information of an image photographed in a reference camera(S110). A skin color region of a target person existing in the photographed image is extracted from the image photographed by a reference camera(S130). Region labeling is performed after a noise is removed by using a morphology filter as to the detected skin color region(S140). An average central coordinate between the pixels corresponding to each other is obtained(S150). The skin regions including an X coordinate value is detected as a face region(S160). An arm region is detected in the skin color region, and a left arm and a right arm are discriminated(S170).
