PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record the state of a splicing device for optical waveguide, as accurately as possible. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide splicing device 1000 has a memory circuit 80 storing data items for specifying the state of the device. The memory circuit is used for storing the data items for specifying the state of the optical waveguide to be splice-connected. The stored data items indicate the conditions of the environment in which a splicing process is carried out. This splicing device may be used to record a plurality of data items that can be evaluated in the analysis of an obstacle which occurs, particularly during the implementation of the splicing process in the analysis of the splicing connection process.
