PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct registration deviation caused by distortion of scanning line. SOLUTION: Firstly, the profile characteristics of scanning line representing distortion of the scanning line is detected (step S101). Then, dither matrix is used for a screen process whose target is a dot image data (step S102). Here, a dither matrix element is displaced in the sub scanning direction opposite to a line transfer process at the transfer point of the line transfer process, according to the profile characteristics, for a quantization process.
