PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calender device capable of suitably performing compaction of a function layer of a web and smoothing of the surface of the function layer by reliably pressurizing an end part in a width direction of the web. SOLUTION: In the calender device, a web 3 is interposed between two calender rollers 1 and 2 made of metal to be subjected to pressurization treatment. The calender rollers 1 and 2 are provided with cylindrical parts 1b and 2b whose outer peripheral surfaces are formed in cylindrical surface shapes and tapered parts 1a and 2a which are connected to ends in axial directions of the cylindrical parts 1b and 2b and whose outer peripheral surfaces are formed in tapered surface shapes. The tapered parts 1a and 2a are formed in such a manner that an end in the width direction of the web 3 overhangs from the boundary between the cylindrical parts 1b and 2b and the tapered parts 1a and 2a by 10 to 200 mm dimension L and the radii of the tapered parts in a position A separated from the boundary between the cylindrical parts 1b and 2b and the tapered parts 1a and 2a on the end sides of the calender rollers 1 and 2 by the dimension L are made smaller than the radii of the cylindrical parts 1b and 2b by 1.5 to 12μm radius difference H.
