PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of securing a food storage volume of a storage compartment and storing food for a long time with an inexpensive structure. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises a refrigerator main body 1 provided with a plurality of storage compartments, doors for opening and closing front openings of the storage compartments, a low pressure compartment 24 disposed in the storage compartment, and a pressure reducing means for reducing a pressure in the low pressure compartment 24. The low pressure compartment 24 has a low pressure compartment main body 40 having an opening portion 42a for taking in and out food, and a low pressure compartment door 50 for opening and closing the opening portion 42a for taking in and out food. The low pressure compartment main body 40 comprises a box-shaped resin framework 42 provided with the opening portion 42a for taking in and out food, and a metallic plate-shaped member 44 extending along a plurality of wall surfaces including a bottom wall 42d of the framework 42.
