PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boot for a constant-velocity universal joint and a constant-velocity universal joint having the boot that can improve workability on molding without impairing compactness, strength, and durability in flexure. SOLUTION: In the boot for the constant-velocity universal joint, the boot 7, which has a bellow portion 7c where a plurality of ridges 7c<SB>1</SB>and valleys 7c<SB>2</SB>are formed alternately, is mounted over a portion from a shaft 6 up to an opening end portion 1b of an outer ring 1 of a constant-velocity universal joint. At a shoulder portion 17, which consists of the maximum diameter valley portion 15, which is the side of the largest diameter portions of the valley portions 7c<SB>2</SB>, a rising portion 14, which extends form the maximum diameter portion 15 to the outer ring side, a bent portion 13, which is bent from this rising portion 14 to the outer ring side, and a cylindrical portion 12, which extends from this bent portion 13 to the outer ring side, A<B<C is satisfied where the thicknesses of the cylindrical portion 12, the bent portion 13, and the rising portion 14 are denoted by A, B, and C respectively. Also, B<C<D is satisfied where D denotes the thickness of the maximum diameter valley portion 15. The rising portion 14 is structured vertically to the axial direction, while the opening end portion 1b of the outer ring 1 is separated from the shoulder portion 17 of the boot 7.
