PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for producing metal oxide fine particles. SOLUTION: The method and the system for producing the oxide fine particles of a target metal in which the metal salt of the target metal for atomization is dissolved in the molten salt of an alkali metal salt at a temperature lower than the decomposition temperature of the metal salt, the oxide fine particles of the target metal are generated by increasing the temperature of the molten salt to the decomposition temperature of the salt of the target metal or higher and then the molten salt containing the fine particles is rapidly cooled are provided. As the generation of the metal oxide fine particles is accelerated and the coarsening of the fine particles is suppressed, the fine particles having a narrow particle size distribution can be obtained.
