A system and method for analysing user generated content data which includes a first item of data associated with a first user from a plurality of users is described. The system comprises memory configured to store user data representative of links between the plurality of users, an assigned relevance value for the first item assigned to the first item by the first user and an assigned trust value assigned to the first user as an indicator of how relevant an assigned relevance value generated by the first user is. The system also comprises a processing device connected to the memory which is configured to: by using the user data, generate for an identified user, a separation value of the first user, and, by using the assigned relevance value and the separation value, generate a derived relevance value of the first item for the identified user. The separation value represents the number of links which connect the first user and the identified user. |
