The present invention relates to a safety and rescue device for taking help to a victim in a road traffic accident. The device according to the invention makes it possible to guide the rescuer, during his employment, to place the victim in a lateral position of safety until the specialist emergency services arrive. It consists of two independent portions: the first has two articulated protrusions (2) of curvilinear shape which converge towards a main connecting structure (1) from which another, secondary connecting structure (5) interlocks. The latter is attached to two "blades" (6), controlled by a small metal plate (9), and by two axes of rotation (7). The second portion is an assembly of two walls (13A-13B) of the same shape, articulated at their axis of symmetry (14), being attached to the trunk by straps (20A-20B) and each having two small inclined protrusions (15), at their top end, which are attached by another strap (17) to the bottom ends (10) of the two protrusions (2) of the first portion. This attachment will unite and link the two portions in order to form a single unit. It is designed for first aid and intended for the possession of the first witness arriving at the scene of the accident.
