<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a starting performance of an engine by reducing a pressure in cylinders, while inhibiting emission of unburnt portion, in an idling stop vehicle in which the engine is rotated by an electric motor when starting after idling stop. <P>SOLUTION: A pressure regulating apparatus for reducing a pressure in the cylinder at the time of compression of an engine is provided, and the pressure in the cylinder (effective compression ratio CR) is reduced by the apparatus when starting after idling stop. In the start that is made by reducing the pressure in the cylinder, an amount to provide a predetermined excessive air ratio LAMD corresponding to the reduced pressure in the cylinder is set as an amount of starting fuel being an amount of fuel to be supplied when starting the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
