PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and image processing method, capable of preventing a color change in display if the image is synthesized. SOLUTION: The image processor includes a video graphic processor 12 for synthesizing a plurality of image signals to generate a synthesized image signal and an HDMI Tx 14 for transmitting the recognition flag of a first color space standard or a second color space standard having a color gamut wider than that specified by the first color space standard as the color space standard of the synthesized image signal if the synthesized signal is transmitted.
