PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite yarn capable of providing a high-strength rope or the like, for example, not only usable for civil engineering, lifts, and ropes for mountain climbing but also widely usable in an electrical device field, a transport machine field or the like. SOLUTION: The composite yarn is obtained by covering a core yarn with a sheath yarn by braiding. At least the core yarn is the yarn of a fiber in which 95 mol% or more of the repeating units is constituted of a polyketone represented by formula (1). The braiding method includes generally braiding a yarn obtained by doubling three or more of multifilament yarns or spun yarns by using a braiding machine (knitting machine).
