METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SUPPORTING A HANDOVER BETWEEN HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS

A handover method between the heterogenous network and a system thereof are provided to perform a handover continually providing a service in movement between heterogenous networks without cutting off. A wireless interface part(310) is composed of a physical layer and a media access control(MAC) layer which are lower layer corresponding to each network. A MIH function part(320) provides interface for connection between a plurality of wireless interfaces and an upper layer(330). The MIH function unit comprises an event service part(322) for the event information transmitted and received between a mobile terminal and base stations of each network for a media-independent hand over, a command service part(324) for a control command and an information service part(326) for network information.
