<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel equipped with a combination type polarizing plate which is formed so as to have a large area and which contributes to improvement of a viewing angle, and also to provide a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel 100 is equipped with: a liquid crystal cell 9; a first optical lamination body A which is provided with one polarizing plate disposed on one surface side of the liquid crystal cell, and an optical compensation layer 38 which is disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the one polarizing plate, and he index ellipsoid of which satisfies inequality nx>ny≥nz; and a second optical lamination body B which is provided with the other polarizing plate disposed on the other surface side of the liquid crystal cell, and an optical compensation layer 37 which is disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the other polarizing plate, and the index ellipsoid of which satisfies inequality nx=ny>nz. At least one of the first and the second optical lamination bodies is the combination type polarizing plate having a first polarizing plate 1 and a second polarizing plate 2 arranged on the surface of the optical compensation layer opposite the liquid crystal cell side-by-side in such a way that at least a set of end faces are opposite each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
