PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flatness of a passage characteristic by preventing breakage of an IDT due to static discharge. SOLUTION: This multimode type elastic wave filter is provided with: a first IDT 10 having a first bus bar 12 connected to a first input/output terminal T11, a plurality of first electrode fingers 14 connected to the first bus bar 12, and a plurality of second electrode fingers 24 connected to a second bus bar 22 arranged oppositely to the first bus bar 12; and a second IDT 30 having a third bus bar 32 connected to the ground GND, a plurality of third electrode fingers 34 connected to the third bus bar 32, and a plurality of electrode fingers 44 connected to a fourth bus bar 42 arranged oppositely to the third bus bar 32; and is structured such that at least either of the second electrode finger 24a on the second IDT 30 side out of the plurality of second electrode fingers, and the fourth electrode finger 44a on the first IDT 10 side out of the plurality of fourth electrode fingers is extended to a hypothetical extension line 18 or 38 of the first bus bar 12 or the third bus bar 32 facing each other.
