摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving mechanism of a carrier which can prevent the occurrence of a defect, a dent, and a transformation due to a heavy blow in a drive transmitting means in the case of moving reciprocatingly the carrier, even when a vibration and an impact from the outside are acted to an apparatus, and a recording device and a reading apparatus using this driving mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: As the drive transmitting means, pinions 108a, 108b mounted on the carrier rotarily drivably, racks 107a, 107b fixed to the apparatus side, and a connecting rack 107c fixed between the racks 107a and 107b are provided.
