PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by appropriately controlling supply of communication and power to a connected device. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes a connection means to which an external device is connected, a power supplying means for supplying power to the external device through the connection means, a communicating means for performing data communication between the external device connected to the connection means and the device of an external network, and a control means for controlling power supply to the external device by the power supplying means on the basis of a state of data communication to the external device.
