Disclosed is a highly saturated nitrile rubber for sealing material, which is used for sealing a solution containing an alcohol.This highly saturated nitrile rubber for sealing material has an iodine number of not more than 80, while containing not more than 0.4% by weight of a surfactant. This highly saturated nitrile rubber for sealing material enables to obtain a crosslinked rubber which is effectively prevented from dissolution of contained components by a solution containing an alcohol such as a water-soluble ink and a fuel oil containing an alcohol, while having excellent thermal aging resistance.
