<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode for a solid polymer fuel cell, having superior water-repellency for quickly supplying and removing reaction gas and superior electrical conductivity for efficiently conducting the electricity generated, and to provide a membrane-electrode assembly and its manufacturing method for a solid polymer fuel cell, and the solid polymer fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: In the gas diffusion electrode for a solid polymer fuel cell including nonwoven cloth, a porous fluorine resin, and a fibrous carbon material, the nonwoven cloth is, preferably, made of a polyarylate fiber. The aspect ratio of the fibrous carbon material is, preferably, in a range of 10-500. The membrane-electrode assembly for solid polymer fuel cell can be manufactured, by laminating the gas diffusion electrode for a solid polymer fuel cell on both sides of a polymer electrolyte membrane via a catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
