PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economize memory capacity for parameters to be used for image processing. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus which images a subject image, including: an imaging section for producing an image; an accepting section for accepting a user operation to select any image quality control mode from among a plurality of predetermined image quality control modes; a condition storage section for storing a machine type dependent image processing condition for converting an image into an image having predetermined characteristics dependently upon a machine type of the imaging apparatus and a plurality of image processing conditions by modes corresponding to each of the plurality of image quality control modes independently of the machine type; a reading section for reading the machine type dependent image processing condition and an image processing condition by modes corresponding to the image quality control mode selected by the user operation; and an image processing section for applying image pre-processing based on the machine type dependent image processing condition to the image and applying image post-processing based on the machine type dependent image processing condition and the image processing condition by modes to the image to which image pre-processing has been applied.
