摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by improving light flux utilization efficiency while maintaining brightness and chromaticity uniformity in a backlight unit and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight unit comprises: a diffusion plate 12; a mounting substrate 3 disposed oppositely below the diffusion plate 12; a plurality of LED light sources 1 installed on the mounting surface of the mounting substrate 3; a plurality of insulating regular reflection sheets 14 arranged on the mounting surface by arranging the LED light sources 1 in first windows 14a opened at the centers; and diffusion reflection sheets 15 installed on the mounting surface and the insulating regular reflection sheets 14 by arranging the LED light sources 1 in second windows 15a opened at a plurality of portions, respectively.
